Why I Can't Stand Mainstream Radio Anymore

Billboard put out its Top 200 Albums of the Decade. Guess who topped it without looking at the pic. I have to go pretty far down the list to even find a CD I might enjoy.

Really, I have no words.

I seem to get that a lot around here.

I like #8 and #16. Did you go farther down the list than that?

Of course I did, Kenneth. Waaaaaaay down the list

I enjoy Enya and can listen to Green Day, the Dixie Chicks, and a handful of others, but when I look at the entire list of 200 and say to myself, "Hmm, I can listen to maybe 7% of this stuff, and I might really like only 2-3%", that means of about 100 songs that will be played on the radio, I might hear 4 songs that I'll enjoy. And really, you'd even have to break that up between pop, rock, and country stations on the ol' FM dial.

4. Out of 100. Why listen? That's my point. (And of course, musical tastes being subjective, I'm only talking about myself here...)

That said, I don't have XM radio or anything like that. I use Pandora (up to 40 hours a month) where you sort of create your own station and there are a couple oterh computer-related places I get music, but obviously, that's not mainstream radio.

Boy, did I botch the word "other" in that last paragraph. Sorry.
