Lights Out

A moment of silence in The Realm. After 72 years, Guiding Light has called it quits. What started as a 15-minute serial radio show that expanded to 30, and took its soapy camp to TV in 1952, and finally over time went to an hour... well, it's done.

Maybe someone would like to say a few words? If I actually ever watched it, perhaps I could eulogize it better. I didn't, though.

As far as you know.

Sorry. I can't eulogize, either. Never got into the soap operas -- or what I grew up calling them "slop operas".

This is a sad, sad, day. Many actors got there start on "Guiding Light" including Kevin Bacon, JoBeth Williams, James Earl Jones, Allison Janney, Brittany Snow (don't really know her), Hayden Panettiere.....

I never watched it. I was an ABC girl...All My Children, One Life to Live, General Hospital...that's where it was at.

Hey Laura, I remember the "Luke and Laura" craze from many, many years ago. My BFF from middle school was all into it. Do you remember that?

Oh, and did Nathan Fillion work on a soap?
