Does this actually count as a post? I was just wondering.

I'll give you a Red check.

Cubs: 16
Reds: 7

And no matter what else Ken is thinking with this, once it comes out, it definitely counts as a post. And if we are counting it...

...imagine the craze it could start elsewhere.

I'll tell you what it reminds me of. Todd Snider had that ghost track on his first CD "Songs from the Daily Planet" called Talking Seattle Grunge Blues where the gimmick of the band was to not play a single note under any circumstance.

I could write a lot of books like this, I think.

You see. I have so much to learn about brevity. Minimalism has a place in the blogosphere.

I see now the red checkmarks all over my life, and I am inspired to go back and try again.

Thanks, Ken.

Here's another Red check:

Reds: 8
Cubs: 6

Both teams are 1-1 and hopelessly behind the Brewers and Cardinals, who are 2-0 and 1-0, respectively.

The Reds have a four-game duel with Sean Casey and the Pittsburgh Pirates next.

Red Check No. 3:

Reds: 6
Pirates: 5

Adam Dunn singled on what was originally ruled an out with two men on and two outs in a 5-5 game in the eighth. After gathering, the umpires correctly overruled the call, and one man scored. Replays clearly showed that the ball short-hopped the outfielder beofe he gloved it. David Weathers closed the door on the Pirates for his second save in two outings this season.

Red Check No. 4

Reds: 7
Pirates: 6

Milton pitches a gem for seven innings before the relief squad almost give it up. However, the ageless Kent Mercker struck out Jeromy Burnitz with two men on and two outs to get the save. Felipe Lopez hit two homers, and David Ross hit one for the Reds.

Two more Red Checks:

Saturday --

Reds:11
Pirates: 9

Reds have no relief pitching. And in the "here's something you don't see every day" category, Chris Hammond gave up three more runs but finally recorded an out: his ERA is now 189.00.

Sunday --

Pirates:5
Reds: 3

Dave Williams came in a gave a quality start against his former team, but to no avail.
