Land of Band Names

Come on, I know every last one of you has thought about it, either as kids or even as adults, and maybe as recently as last night. Here's the question: If you started a band, what would the name of your group be? Or what's a list of band names you've thought of that you might choose from?

Also, along the same lines, what are some of the best and worst band names out there? Is it completely subjective as to whether a name is good or bad? I've seen people who love the name "Toad the Wet Sprocket" and then people who hate it. But there seem to be some names loved or hated by all. "Kajagoogoo" comes to mind as one nobody can stand, while most like "The Psychedelic Furs."

Use imagination worthy of The Realm of Possibility, but at the same time, try to keep it as PG-13 as you can. And I'm certain we're all mature enough here, on the honor code, that we're not going to laugh at someone else's lame name.

For instance, Ken and I threw one of my old favorites into our novel, Dorkman (or Stick a Dork in Me, I'm Done):

The Dead Misers

Now, although that's not a lame name, there might be someone out there thinking about laughing at it. But we don't hear them because they're not laughing. Why? Because we're... all... on... the... honor... code.

Now, for anyone brave enough, take your shots and don't be afraid.

I saw one over the Net that made me LOL which was something like:

Gondor Shall Call... and Rohan Will Answer!

Can you imagine?

Thinking about Seinfeld tonight, I thought a lot of group names could come straight from that show:

The Yadas
Soup Nazis
Bubble Boys
The Flaming Costanzas
Newman & Kramer
Stealing Marble Ryes
Spongeworthies
George Killed Susan
The Crazy Joe Devolas
Manssiere
The Mulvas
Vandelay, Inc.
J. Peterman in Burma

or (and you knew it was coming)

Masters of Our Domains

[might not have followed my own censorsip advice on a couple of those]
